Rapture blog Tour

Rapture (Elfin Series Book 2)

By Quinn Loftis

 Synopsis

Triktapic, the deadly dark elf assassin, has been restored by the Forest Lords to his rightful place as king of the Elven realm. Now, he must face his former comrades as he attempts to stop Lorsan, king of the dark elves, from enslaving the human race. Lorsan has already begun distributing Rapture, the irresistible drink that destroys those who unknowingly become addicted to it. Will Cassie, his Chosen, be able to give Trik the strength he needs to face his dark past?

Meanwhile, Cassie’s best friend, Elora, is in a fight for her own life. Elora, her mother, Lisa, and a small band of light elves have traveled deep into the dark elf realm in hopes of rescuing Cassie and Trik. But their mission quickly turns into a battle for their own lives as they are surrounded by Lorsan and his warriors. Though outnumbered ten to one, the humans and elves fight heroically. They fight for a King once lost, but now found. They fight for the human realm that doesn’t yet know it is in need of saving. They fight for love; a love that has already been discovered and a love that is waiting to be revealed. Despite their valiant efforts, the band is captured and held captive by the dark elf king.

The peaceful world that Cassie and Elora knew is long gone, shattered by their realization that elves walk secretly among them, and are bent on their destruction. Soon, each of the girls will be forced to choose her own path. Cassie must decide to which world she belongs and Elora must decide if she will fight for a warrior hell bent on keeping her from his side.

Two species, human and elf, stand on the precipice of war, united in one goal; shatter the dark elf king’s plan, and unite a divided race under the rule of the one true King.

Excerpt 1

“You’re mine, Cassie, my Chosen. I cannot do what it is I have to do without you.” He felt emotions that seemed to have been building all day begin to rush through him and he was nearly overwhelmed. He cupped her face and leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. He shouldn’t be lying here with the most incredibly sweet woman he’d ever met. He didn’t deserve her, and yet, he wouldn’t let her go, not ever.

Cassie moaned as Trik kissed her. If there was one thing her assassin could do, it was kiss. His lips worked a spell over her as she parted her lips for him. The taste of him rushed into her and she pushed closer to him, needing to feel him against her—needing to know that she was safe and that Trik wouldn’t let anything happen to her. His arms wrapped around her and he rolled them so that she was on top of him. She laughed into their kiss at the quick motion, and when she opened her eyes, she saw his silver ones staring back at her.

“You’re so beautiful, A’maelamin,” he whispered to her.

She felt his hands run down her back and stop at the lowest point of the small of her back. She would like to say that she was feeling virtuous, but that would be a big, fat lie. She wiggled against him and Trik groaned and gripped her hips suddenly, holding her still.

“You know what they say about those who play with fire?” Trik asked her in a dangerously low and utterly seductive voice.

Cassie leaned down until her mouth was next to his ear. “That they’re begging to be burned?”

Excerpt 2

“No comments on saving the world, huh?” Elora asked sarcastically.

“I think it goes without saying that I and my sword are capable of saving the world,” Cush answered.

Elora was struck mute by the sheer confidence he exuded. She was trying really hard to not want him, and if he wasn’t so self-assured, handsome, calm under pressure, and funny—in a totally unexpected way—she’d be doing alright. But he was all of those things and he kept saying things that threw her off balance. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye. Bad move genius, she told herself. Rule number one; do not look at the hotness. Okay, maybe this could work if she could just set up some ground rules for herself. She could call them: Rules to stay un-elfed. She mentally smiled at her made up title and then mentally kicked herself for basically have a conversation with herself, complete with laughing at her own jokes. She settled down into her seat without responding to his sharp, witty, and admittedly hilarious comment.

“Wake me when we get to the restaurant,” Elora said to no one in particular.

“Elora, it will take all of five minutes to get to a place to eat,” Lisa pointed out.

What Elora wanted to say was, that’s five minutes too many to be stuck in this ride with the only guy she had ever met that made her want to bat her eye lashes and giggle like a moron, but what she actually said was, “Five minutes of sleep is better than none.” Witty? No. Drama free? At least on the outside she was.

Bond of Love Tour

As a picturesque mother and wife, forty-one year old Avery Richards seems to have it all. Married to a successful veterinarian named Noah and mother to a spunky daughter named Kara, her life is far from awful but she is stuck. With the recent move of their daughter, who has just flown the coop for college, this story examines the deep and often-tumultuous bond between mother and child and the lengths we are willing to go to, as mothers, to sacrifice our own happiness for the ones we love. As we watch Avery walk through her ‘new’ way of daily life, without her ambitious and stubborn child around to mother any longer, we are given a very unique opportunity to tip toe in the front row of their lives, from three very separate views. We will see life as it plays out through her mature and motherly eyes, through Kara’s young and sheltered heart, and then through ‘someone else’s eyes’ that has a vested interest in them both. As Avery’s well-hidden web of lies come crashing down in an unexpected way, her secrets that she’s safeguarded for years will threaten to rip her peaceful world apart, as well as the world of the ones she loves most. As readers, we will watch how ONE single choice can alter everything. Each character will then be forced to examine what the true meaning of love and forgiveness means to them. Every gamut of emotion will be explored: humor, sadness, love, joy, betrayal, hate, and forgiveness. Bond of Love will leave you pondering the age-old question: How well do YOU actually know the ones you love most?

Back to Reality

~ Synopsis ~ Her past: Emanuel Mills was her first love. The guitar playing, adventure seeking, IT whiz was everything she ever wanted. Her present: Tyree Barker was her last love. The cultured, educated, successful entrepreneur was everything she needed. But when Sahara Lee’s past and present collided, a series of events occurred that changed her life forever, leaving her future up in the air. As a college freshman, a tragic accident changed the course of Sahara’s life. Ten years later, just when she started putting her life back together, Sahara’s world was rocked again due to a similar accident. Heartbroken and guilt ridden, Sahara fell into old, familiar habits before quickly realizing that she wasn’t the same Sahara Lee anymore. Unable to live a lonely, loveless, isolated life anymore, Sahara decided that the way she coped before wasn’t going to work this time around. Time didn’t heal her wounds, but forgiveness might.

MY REVIEW: Where do I even start with this awesome book! I knew I was hooked after I read the first book, I could hardly wait to read this one. Thankfully I only had to wait a day or two! Sahara's story is so up and down I was spinning with all the details. The only complaint I had was that a girl shouldn't have to say sorry that many times! :) Emmanuel and Tyree were both so awesome that I had a hard time choosing for Sahara...I am glad that she chose the one that I would have, so to me it ended on a good note. I love Danielle's writing style and I look forward to reading many more by her in the future!

The Grinding - Matt Dinniman

THE GRINDING - MATT DINNIMAN

My review:
The Grinding is a book unlike any book I have read before. It definitely came from someone who has a very descriptive and vivid imagination. It's not your typical monster book where you can predict the ending. The Grinding pulls on your own imagination and it leaves you turning the pages so quickly because you can't seem to get enough. Nif's story has so many twist and turns you could become dizzy trying to keep up with it all. The love that Adam has for Nif is so appealing. Their story can be heart breaking at times and then it's comical. This book is not the normal genre that I tend to stick to but I was pleasantly surprised at how well I liked it.

Synopsis:
Six months ago, the world watched in horror as we lost an American city.

The Grinder. That's what the survivors of Tucson called the monster. Just one touch, and they became a part of it. It used their bodies as limbs and as weapons. In just a matter of hours, it became huge, a towering monstrosity made entirely out of tens of thousands of people and animals.

This isn’t behind-the-scenes bullshit from the point of view of the military. This isn’t yet another conspiracy theory about what really happened to Air Force One that night, or about the decision to nuke Tucson.

This is a rare, eyewitness account from someone who was there, in the midst of the destruction. But most importantly, this is the terrifying truth.

Excerpt:

At work, though, the people are real. Both the customers and the staff. During the busy times, we get more douchebags, mostly my classmates who probably should be in the library and not eating a hangover away. Mal is also on this morning. He’s a recovering alcoholic, a total asshole to nearly everyone, and an incredibly shitty employee in a lot of ways. But the dude can cook and when I walk in a couple minutes late with no explanation, Mal just shrugs and hands me an order.

“Big parties last night?”

“Huge party. I spent the night reading Dostoevsky.”

“He a scientist?” Mal flips over the largest slab of ham I have ever seen. For all the sort of dive element of this place, the food is still fucking great.

“Yeah, something like that.”

“Eh. Never cared for all that mumbo jumbo. Don’t know any of it and I’m doing just fine.”

That’s something else I admire about Mal. By no one’s standards is he doing just fine. He has a tendency to fall off the wagon as soon as he approaches his ten month anniversary – which he has been doing for likely longer than I have been alive. He’s been married and divorced five times. He has three kids who don’t speak to him. Finally, he only eats the food from the café and he lives in a motel out by the prison. Oh – and he works as a short order cook in a shitty café. But in his mind, life is just fine. Sometimes, I think I need to get a hold of whatever it is that keeps him from losing his shit.

We settle into our routine, since there is little Mal and I can talk about. I can’t discuss Raskolnikov’s character traits and Mal simply has nothing to say. So we cook in silence, but it’s comfortable. After everything I have been through, I feel a strange affinity for this place. Even thinking about leaving when I eventually get the hell out of town makes me a little sad. I hate that it makes me sad. I want to leave with no connections, with no strings.

I go to stick an order on the counter for Liz when I see her. Strawberries. She’s with some dude, who is basically what I pictured when she mentioned her boyfriend. Broad, tan, blond, and eating like a fucking pig. I don’t know what they’re talking about and I can’t see her face, but he loves her. It’s immediately recognizable and I hate him for it. I don’t even know why I hate him for it, since at least maybe he’s not as much of a dick as I would have expected. If we had been placing bets, I would have gone with the safe assumption he had something else on the side to make up for having such a sweet and pure girlfriend. I wonder if maybe she isn’t as innocent as she looks. The thought makes me horny again. I don’t get what is so damn attractive about this typical girl, but something makes me want to taste every inch of her skin.

About the author:
Sarah Daltry writes erotica and romance that ranges from sweet to steamy. She moves around a lot and has trouble committing to things. Lily of the Valley is her third full length novel, although she also has several story collections and two novellas available. Her other novels are Forget Me Not, the story that tells Lily’s version of events, and Bitter Fruits, which will be released by Escape Publishing in December. When Sarah isn’t writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking Facebook for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window.

Adela Arthur and the Creator's Clock

by Judyann McCole

This book 1 of 5 for The Chronicle of A Genre: Fantasy
To Who Ever This May Concern; I wish I could tell you the contents of this book were purely fictional. That I, Adela Arthur, was just a normal sixteen year old from Portland and that dragons, giants, elves and mermaids were just myths. I wish these were legends shared from crazy old grandparents to crazy old grandparents around campfires. After all, that is what I used to believe.I never would have thought they lived on the other side of our mirrors in a world called Cielieu. But they do…I never would have thought there were humans, better known as Volsin that lived among them with the ability to create light from a single thought. But there are…I never would have thought I was one of them… But I am… I am the last Arthur and I was brought to the human world after a Volsin, filled with greed, began to strip the light from our kind. The human world was supposed to be a safe haven… but he’s found us and the only way to stop him is to go back to Cielieu and begin training as a student in the Elpida Castle of Light.Like I said I wish the contents of this book were purely fictional and not my life…

Adela Arthur is now on amazon on Paperback | Kindle

Amber's Faerie-Tale Cover reveal

I am so happy to be a part of this cover reveal by the wonderful Devyn Dawson! I can't wait to read this one!!!

You asked for it, you've got it...Amber's story!  If you haven't read Enlightened, it is recommended to read that book before reading this novella.  As a matter of fact, if you haven't read it...don't read the synopsis of this book....or pay attention to the title.  By continuing to read, you're taking it into your own hands that you're reading a spoiler.  Don't write me and say you had no idea and now you're scarred for life.  Nope, you can't say those things.

You're reading at your own risk.  I'm warning you to turn your eyes and run and read the first two books before going any further.

Amber, the sassy sidekick to Jessie Lucente has met her match the day she meets bad boy Thorne.  They've gone on a few dates, but Thorne is Jessie's guardian and he has a mission to protect her at all cost.  He's able to handle Amber's sarcasm and dishes it back, to her dismay.  They are just learning how to juggle dating and Thorne's guardian schedule when Amber is abducted during a school dance.
'
Amber knows her abductors have a schedule, and if she isn't rescued before time is up, she'll die.  She doesn't fear death, she fears the pain it will cause her friends and Thorne.  When Amber's brother died she thought of nothing else but taking her own life, but knew how much it would hurt her family.  The only problem now is she has something and someone to live for; but she refuses to fear the end.

This isn't a love story full of sweet kisses and adoring teens, so if you're looking for that kind of faerie-tale, read about Jessie and Caleb.

Amber's Faerie-Tale is Available December 17, 2013 - Add to your TBR List

Join the world of the Praestes and the Malfaisants and discover an entire world you may never have known existed. It will make you question if there is really a life beyond the one you already know.

My Review: I was asked to read this book for a review by a friend of the author. I love to read so I was all for it. I tend to not read the synopsis before hand so that I am totally surprised about the book I am about to review. I do not look up the rates the books are already given either.
This book surprised me, I liked it a lot! It's different, but in a good way. I loved the interaction of all the characters. I can't make up my mind about some of the characters just yet...which just means I will  have to wait for the next book! I look forward to seeing what J. M. Zuniga has in store for us in the future. Through Glass - Book Blitz

Inline image 1

Release Date: September 20, 2013

Genre: NA Dystopian with Sci-Fi and Romance

Everyone remembered the day the sky went black. The day the sun was wiped from the sky. They remember the wind as it brought in the darkness; the way the earth shook and everything changed.

Everyone remembered the screams as the darkness ate those who were out in the open, those who had surrounded themselves by light, and those who made noise.

Everyone remembered the voice from the sky and the way food disappeared.

At least, that’s what I hoped. I hoped that there was an ‘everyone’ that would remember because I am not sure how many are left, how many survived. Or if anyone did.

I hoped that I wasn’t alone.

I remembered that day.

I remembered because it was the day I became alone.

It was the day that everything was perfect until the monsters took it away. Then the house went silent and the birds stopped singing. It was the day when everyone disappeared, everyone except the boy, the only person I have seen in two years.
The boy I talk to through the glass.

My review: I had the privilege of reading this book in advance. It was not like anything I had ever read before. I liked it even though its do different from what I normally read. It was nice to think outside of the normal paranormal for once and I am fascinated  by Rebecca's imagination!  I look forward to reading the next one in this series. I would give this book stars.

Sacrifice of Love - Quinn Loftis

Sacrifice of Love - Quinn Loftis
Book 7 (final) of the Grey Wolves series

My review of this book: THIS BOOK WAS AN AMAZING ENDING TO THE SERIES. I have loved Quinn's books from day 1. I have loved these wolves through everything they have gone through. I have laughed with them, I have cried with them, and I have been just as angry at their fur ball mates right along with them. I was not disappointed at all with the way this series ended. I wasn't left mad or unhappy about the authors decisions. If you haven't started this series you are totally missing out. I could go into details about the books, I am afraid I would ruin it for someone who hasn't read any of them yet. Take my word for it, Quinn Loftis is an author who doesn't disappoint in anything she writes!

About the Author
Quinn is an award winning author who lives in beautiful Western Arkansas with her husband, son, Nora the Doberman, and Phoebe the Cat (who thinks she is a ninja in disguise). She is the author of eight novels, including the USA Today bestseller, Fate and Fury. Quinn is beyond thankful that she has been blessed to be able to write full time and hopes the readers know how much all of their support means to her. Some of her hobbies include reading, exercising, crochet, and spending time with family and friends. She gives all credit of her success to God because he gave her the creative spirit and vivid imagination it takes to write.
