Anna-Marie and Alessandro work hard to provide a stable life for their only child, Gemma.  The child that was bestowed to them by their goddess Ameretat for reasons still unknown.  Like Alessandro’s mother did to him, Anna-Marie works diligently to protect her special daughter and lead her away from following in her father’s footsteps in becoming a Protector.  Weeks before Gemma’s eighteenth birthday Gemma has a magical night with a boy, Ford Chase, who just may have been “the one”.  They laughed and danced and kissed under the moon light.  That is before he was forcefully taken away from her by a Rogue.  Gemma desperately chases after them, but to no avail.  Heartbroken and angry Gemma vows right then and there, despite her parents pleading, she will join the Protector order on her eighteenth birthday and avenge Ford’s death.  No one could foresee the events that would ensue thereafter and little by little the gifts that Ameretat blessed Gemma with become apparent and are far more than anyone could ever imagine.

Who is Tressa Messenger:
I am a small town girl with big dreams. I grew up in a small coastal community called Pamlico County in the town of Reelsboro, North Carolina. Growing up in such a rural area there wasn't much to do, so I developed a wide fantasy finding solace in writing poetry and songs. After leaving high school I left my little secure coastal town to discover other parts of the country using life as my teacher. It was a sad and lonely time, but also a fun and exciting time in my life. I had too many emotions to process so I started to put it all down on paper. That became the start of my first novel, which I have yet to finish. A few years later I wrote my first complete novel entitled Protector. This novel was a dream come true, although I found out during the process, at 31 years old, I am dyslexic. Reading was always a struggle throughout my life and finding out why has really made a difference in me and my writing. Writing was such a wonderful and daunting process, but I have succeeded in doing something I never thought I would do. I have 4 novels published, Protect, Protect Me, Protect Us and Too Close To Home, with many more on the way. Writing is such a passion of mine and I hope my readers feel the love I put into my work.

Other authors that I read:

Protect Us - Tressa Messegner

Last night I finished Protect Us, the third book in this series. Tressa Messenger out did her self in this book. She told me she thought Protect Me would be the last book in the series until the idea for this book came about. Well I am sure I am not the only fan that will say Thank You!

The last book leaves us with Anna-Marie and Alessandro having a baby girl, Gemma. Protect Us starts off with Gemma as a teenager, and this is her story more than it is Anna-Marie and Alessandro. We get to see Gemma train to be a protector, fall in love, and kick some vampire butt! Ford makes a nice addition to the characters as well.

It did take me a few chapters to actually get into this book as well but it's worth the wait so keep reading!

Enjoy and if you want more information on Tress Messenger then go visit her facebook page

Happy Reading!

Significance Series Book 1 & 2

The first book in the Significance Series is called none other than Significance. Written by Shelly Crane and will be a major motion picture coming out in 2014. I can't wait. This book is an awesome book of love, surprises, action, and gorgeous characters. Main characters are Maggie who meets Caleb and imprints with him (which means they are soul mates) while supposed to be going out with his cousin Kyle who she has known for years. As soon as they imprint they can't get enough of each other, literally, their touch to each other is what keeps both of them sane and calm. Kyle is devastated by this more because of wanting Maggie for himself. He should have been happy since imprinting had stopped for all Ace's for a very long time. There is way more to this than just two young people imprinting, Maggie is going to be a very big part of the Ace's and this series is pretty awesome!

Book 2 is called Accordance. This book picks up right where book 1 left off. In this book you get to know Maggie and Caleb better along with Caleb's sister Jen, Maggie's brother Bish and their families. You find out in this book that Maggie has major awesome abilities and Caleb will do anything to protect his significant.  Most of this book takes place in California where they have all gone to get away from all the craziness going on in Tenn. Bish has a crush on Jen, Kyle looks for a girl of his own even though he knows he shouldn't be dating. There are a few surprises in this book that I sure didn't see coming! I plan to read the next one soon and I will be sure to add it to my blog as well.

This series is different because it's not vampires, werewolves, witches, etc. They just have abilities and have soul mates that they can heal, read each others minds, and they have to be together always.
I liked that this series so far isn't harping on sex and bad language like some do. Check out the links below for more info about the movie and books! Happy Reading!

Protector and Protect Me.....

DISCLAIMER......In my review of books for this blog, I write what is in my head the good, bad, and the ugly. I also don't claim to be a writer so I am sure there will be some misspelled words and wrong grammar.
Also, to the author of the books I review....If I say something you don't like I am truly sorry you don't like it, but it wont stop me from writing it. It's not (normally) a hit to the author because once I find a series I like, I tend to keep reading and supporting these authors.

ALSO: I personally read 1 or 2 sometimes 3 books a week so I normally buy the nook books that are free or $1.99, I tend to not pay more then $2 for a book I can read in one night and don't read again. I know, I am cheap! :)

Protector is the first book of this vampire series by Tressa Messenger. It took me about half way through the book to get into this one. I kept waiting to find out what happened and it took awhile to get it. There was just so much information that was put into this book there is no wonder why the author had to make it a bit boring. I found myself skimming ahead to find out what happened. But like I said, once I was into it, I couldn't put it down and was so glad to hear the next ones was available, and I didn't have to wait for it.

Anna-Marie is a young woman in love with her childhood sweetheart who is quickly taken away by a murderous beast. Later you find out the story is about vampires. (I didn't read the preview of this book, it was just recommended to me by another author) So for me I couldn't tell where this book was going. Half way through you meet another character Alessandro who falls in love with Anna-Marie and they go through this crazy adventure.

Anna-Marie finds out that her childhood sweetheart isn't totally dead. And the best part is she has already fallen in love with Alessandro and I like that the author didn't make her really go back and forth through who she wants to be with (like Bella on twilight! i mean seriously how annoying was that!)

PROTECT ME.....
Is the second book in this series and it continues with Anna-Marie and Alessandro's adventure. There is a wedding and a baby and everything!  Dylan (the childhood sweetheart) is helping out the Botherhood in this book and there is plenty of action. And from what I have been told there will be a 3rd book, I am looking forward to this one!

COMPLAINTS:
Here are my complaints about this series. When I am reading I try not to skip over words but during this one I found myself skimming ahead because I felt it was repeating itself. I don't think the author is a bad author at all because of this, she even told me she has gotten better. I could tell between the 2 books. I personally don't like to have long names in books. It's just me really, but I found myself calling Anna-Marie, Anna after awhile because I was tired of saying the longer name in my head....and man I bet that was annoying to type out while she was writing the book with - and all.

All in all, this is a good series and I would give it 4 stars!

disclaimer

For those of you who actually read my blog I wanted to post that first and for most I am a Christian. A follower of Jesus Christ. Yes I like to read fiction, whether it be a vampire books, werewolf books,  Siren book,....whatever it may be. To me it's nothing different from watching a fiction movie.
With that being said, I will write reviews about these books since at this moment that is the purpose of my blog. I may add some personal blogs like this one from time to time, but since I am sure some of my church family will come across me blog, I figured I would write a little disclaimer.

Here is a little more about me:
I attend Calvary Chapel in Mechanicsville Va, in my personal opinion, it's the best Bible teaching church I have ever come across. And I have tried others in the area thinking I wanted something different. I was wrong and God led me back to this church and for that I am sooo thankful!
I have been married to my husband Sam for 4 years (and 2 days : ). Him and I had a rough patch in the beginning of our marriage, but since we both have been walking with the Lord, our marriage has been better.
I work at a Christian daycare and I love it! I have 3 sisters, 1 brother, 3 brother in laws, 1 niece, 3 nephews (and yes that is including baby Gaston, even though he isn't born yet : )
All of my family live near me except my oldest sisters family, and brother who is living with her for the moment.
My favorite place to vacation is Great Cranberry Island Maine, I would live there if I thought I could handle the winter!
I have a very spoiled dog named Bella (yes after Bella from Twilight)

Captivated

Captivate  - Jayme and Jody Morse

Captivate is the 2nd book in the Siren's Lullaby series by Jayme and Jody Morse. It's about a girl who is turned into a Siren and has to live a normal teenage life. She meets a few love interest along the way. She is reunited with her sister whom she thought was dead.
Felicia is still learning how to live the Siren life, and balance her normal life with her summer job, friends, her grandmother and her mother. She is in search for a guy who will fall in love her, and she meets some interesting guys along the way. While dealing with the new siren "family" who should be there to help her along the way, but even sometimes that is rocky.
This book is a well written and thought out book. It keeps you turning the pages and wanting more. The book ends on a surprising note, just the way I like my books to end! Also by the Morse girls is The Briar Creek Vampire Series and Howl series. These are all worth reading! - Happy Reading!!!

Enlightened

Enlightened is the second book in The Light Tamer series. Book one is named The Light Tamer. This series is different than most supernatural series I have read. I was a bit reserved when I first started this series, I didn't think that it would be that interesting. Boy, was I wrong! Jessie is a 15 year old girl who moves to a new town in NC (my home state : ) ) with her mom to live with her grandma. She meets a boy named Caleb who reveals what they are. There of course is a love story in it which makes all books better. Oh, and there is the best friend Amber (I love her spunky style and of course her name, I am bit partial to it myself). Enlightened (book 2) goes into more depth and adventure with these 3 teens. You will laugh, and you might even cry a time or two during this book. I think this book is worth reading, but of course read The Light Tamer first so you can understand what is going on. My only negative thing to say about this series and I think 15 is way to young for the characters to be going through some of the things going on in this book. But I am personally thankful that the author doesn't have the characters going into too much of the sexual elements of a relationship.  Devyn Dawson has a way of pulling you into her stories enough that you feel like you are standing right next to the characters. She doesn't use curse words to the extreme nor does she use sex to sell her books. After you are done reading this series, check out her series about werewolves titled The Legacy of Kilkenny (book 1) and Malevolence (book 2)
Happy Reading!

My new adventure

I have decided to sell Mary Kay, I have 3 cousins and a friend who sell it. They all seem to really like it. I like make up, and I like making extra money. I am hoping this extra money will help me and my husband get out of debt fast. We are way to young to have this much debt hanging over our heads.

Anyway here is the link to my personal Mary Kay website http://www.marykay.com/aclark81513
Feel free to buy any time : )

Currently I am not reading anything, I am waiting until the 10th so I can read the rest of Devyn Dawson's new book Enlightened. I was privileged to be able to read the first 17 chapters of it, and I am realllllly looking forward to finishing it. Once I do I will write a review on Barnes and Noble and I will post it here as well.

If any Nook owners come across my blog, I need Nook friends so we can share books....let me know if you want to be Nook friends.

Off for now, to watch Haven

I'll give it a try

So I am going to give this a try and see how long I will keep up with it. I am bad about starting something and never finishing it. This will be fun for just a bit and then I will get tired of it, or forget about it, or even just not find the time to do it. So since I have been doing A LOT of reading on my nook color, I thought it would be nice to start a blog about the books I read.

The only people who will even read this will probably be my sister Emily or another family member and even they will probably get tired of reading about my vampire and werewolf addictions (at the moment). I tend to go through periods of reading Young Adult Paranormal books to reading loves stories and then sometimes historical non-fiction.

I am by no means a writer, if you keep reading you will find many grammatical errors and probably some miss-spelled words, even though they come up with the red line under it. I would love to write sometime but I have read so many books, and I have so many different ideas going through my mind there is no way it would make since if said out loud.

My current book addiction is anything by these authors: Devyn Dawson (Devyn's facebook
Quinn Loftis (Quinn's facebook) Nicky Charles (Nicky's facebook) and Tammy Blackwell
(Tammy's facebook)

Another addiction I can't seem to cut, The Big Bang Theory : )
